I first decided that I wanted to be a hairdresser when I was just 5 years old. I would sit behind my Mum trying to blow dry her hair. Around Christmas time, I would even ask Father Christmas for a hairdressing kit.
Whenever my Mum had her hair done in the salon, I would sit next to her watching closely. I was keen to see how it was styled. Mum would leave me in the salon on Saturday afternoon whilst she would go over the road to do some shopping. I would sit next to the stylist and watch her working, hoping that one day I would be as good as her!
I couldn’t wait to finish school, so I could finally go to college and learn to be a Hairdresser. Whilst I was attending college, I completed my work experience here at Tag! It was amazing to see what it was like to be in a salon and part of the team. I was so excited to be working here and still am to this day! After my work experience was over, I was then offered a Saturday job where I would get to know the team and clients more.
I completed my Level Two VRQ course at College. I then completed my apprenticeship and NVQ level three at TAG Hairdressing salon, where I am now working towards my NVQ level 4 and have recently been promoted to manager.
